The North Dakota State Hospital on Circle Drive in Jamestown, North Dakota has adult inpatient and outpatient treatment options for mental health and addiction issues.
Treatment here includes everything from residential and short-term inpatient treatment to outpatient programs that provide care from one appointment a week and day treatment programs that provide daily support throughout the week.
Various Programs to Meet Patient Needs
Residential care includes both a male and female client program located onsite at the Tompkins Rehabilitation Center. This mental health evaluation and treatment center also houses the secure inpatient forensic unit for individuals accused of or convicted of sexually dangerous behaviors and crimes. Court ordered treatment is also conducted by psychiatric professionals but may be separate from voluntary addiction treatment programs.
Mental Health and Psychiatric Services
Adults aged 18 and over who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness may require extended support and there are a few units here that can provide that support either as an inpatient or through outpatient services.
There is a substance abuse and addiction disorder inpatient treatment program as well as a short-term stabilization unit. There is also a longer-term psychosocial rehabilitation unit and a 16-bed transitional residential care program onsite.
Referrals to the State Hospital are most often made by the regional human services center behavioral health professionals after an assessment and evaluation to determine what treatment and support would be most beneficial.
There is a sliding fee scale for those who don’t have health insurance. Medicaid and Medicare are accepted as are most private health insurance plans.
