About National Capital Treatment and Recovery – Demeter House
National Capital Treatment and Recovery's Demeter House is a nationally accredited intensive residential addiction treatment program for adult women in Arlington, Virginia.
The program supports women living with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions through evidence based, cognitive behavioral, and trauma informed care.
Demeter House offers a safe female only environment where women can step away from daily stressors and focus on lasting recovery.
Residential Treatment for Women and Mothers
Demeter House is a medically monitored and clinically managed residential program designed specifically for women including those who are pregnant or postpartum.
The program provides 24 hour care, client counseling, group counseling, psychoeducation, and medication assisted treatment within a structured residential setting.
Treatment combines cognitive behavioral therapy with trauma informed practices to address both substance use and underlying emotional concerns.
Daily routines include therapy, wellness activity, and recovery skill building with additional medical and mental health support as needed to address each woman's full clinical picture.
Trauma Informed Care and Continuing Recovery
Demeter House emphasizes trauma informed treatment, family involvement when appropriate, and linkage to community recovery supports for sustained progress after discharge.
As part of National Capital Treatment and Recovery which is a nonprofit founded in 1962, clients can transition into outpatient services and ongoing MAT through the NCTR Counseling Center.
