About Keystone Treatment Center
Located in the small town of Canton, South Dakota, in the central eastern corner of the state, is the Keystone Treatment Center. This is a treatment facility that supports adults working through a drug or alcohol use disorder. They have programs for young adults, veterans and military members, and Native Americans.
Medically supervised detox is offered alongside residential and outpatient services. There's also a really robust opioid and meth dependence program.
Policies from most major insurance providers are accepted here. They also work with VA benefits and tribal assistance.
Addiction Treatment in a Tranquil Recovery Environment
Right on the border of Canton, South Dakota and western Iowa, the topography here is simply beautiful. Keystone Treatment Center sits on 30 acres of land that allow you to soak in the beauty of the Midwest. This tranquil environment provides the opportunity to reflect on your treatment goals and progress and what you want your future after recovery to look like.
When you first enter the facility, you'll immediately be greeted by a warm and welcoming environment. Hardwood floors, warm tones, and open common spaces provide a homelike feel, despite being an administrative style, somewhat dated building.
There are separate wings of the facility that offer gender-specific spaces including gender-specific counseling rooms, chapels, art rooms and recreation spaces. This allows you to feel comfortable throughout your recovery. Outside, you'll find lush greenery and a gazebo where you can get fresh air or spend your downtime.
Specialized Treatment Programs for Veterans and Native Americans
There are a number of tribal communities that call this region home. Keystone Treatment Center uses culturally competent care and treatment services that recognize Native American traditions and customs.
Through the veteran treatment program, trauma-informed services are applied to help veterans work through difficult emotions and experiences brought on by their time in service. Often, it's these experiences that can contribute to a substance abuse struggle, so it's important to address these challenges during recovery.
Other specialized programs include Christian programming, law enforcement programming and military programming. They also offer legal aid services.
