IU Health Addiction Treatment and Recovery Center is a hospital based intensive outpatient program located at Methodist Hospital in downtown Indianapolis, serving adults ages 18 and older with substance use disorders.
The center offers group psychotherapy, individual therapy, medication assisted treatment and peer recovery coaching to address alcohol and drug addiction as well as cooccurring mental health concerns like trauma and grief.
Treatment is designed to fit around work and school while helping participants improve relationships and functioning at home, at work and in their communities.
Intensive Outpatient Addiction Treatment in Indianapolis
The center delivers a structured IOP model with a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, therapists and peer recovery coaches.
This team based approach combines medical care, evidence based therapy and lived experience support to meet participants where they are in recovery.
Sessions integrate group education, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, relapse prevention skills, mindfulness and meditation practices and art therapy.

Medication Assisted Treatment and Peer Support
The center provides MAT alongside therapy to support recovery from opioid and alcohol use disorders.
