Douglas Gardens Community Mental Health North Miami Center

Douglas Gardens Community Mental Health Center in North Miami, Florida offers outpatient rehab for substance use. The center serves clients who have a substance use disorder along with a mental health condition.

North Miami Admission Rules

Douglas Gardens is the primary mental health provider under a Florida contract for low income clients and those with disabilities. The contract covers Miami Beach and North Miami. You can't be admitted if you live outside both the wider North Miami area and Miami Beach.

Adults 18 and older can be admitted. Information is available in Spanish and in Haitian Creole.

North Miami Office and Housing

Sessions at the North Miami office are scheduled and you go home after each visit. Weekday crisis intervention is available by phone or walk-in at both offices which includes North Miami.

After a crisis Aftercare Outreach follows up with assessments for clients who have chronic mental health challenges. Douglas Gardens also has Oak Grove which is a 14 unit apartment community in North Miami that houses 28 residents.

Residents have a substance use disorder and a mental health condition and they are moving from shelter toward independent living.

The center accepts Medicare and Medicaid and it's certified for both programs. A sliding fee scale applies when you show proof of income or proof of public assistance.
