About Clean and Sober Street 2 North
Clean and Sober Street 2 North is located inside the Federal City Shelter building in Washington, DC. Since 1987, this organization has provided a second chance for individuals looking for a new path from “rock bottom” because of substance abuse disorders. They accept most private insurance plans, Medicaid, ACA and self-pay and are accredited by CARF.
Specialized Residential Treatment
Clean and Sober Street focuses on individuals fighting addiction and returning from prison or homelessness. They provide residential treatment, detoxification and outpatient programs.
The residential program lasts roughly 30 days and provides dorm-style rooms, shared bathrooms, three daily meals and 24/7 supervision and security. During this time participants learn about their addiction through therapy sessions and if needed can go through detoxification with onsite support. One of the great features at this facility is the fact that they provide all personal hygiene products, clothing and any other supplies that individuals may need given their current situation.
Some of the therapy methods that individuals will engage in include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and trauma-informed therapy. Clients also attend 12 Step AA and NA meetings.
Practical and Fun Support Programs
Their CASSA Arts Workshop is a favorite and includes therapy sessions like art, music and poetry in their multi-media arts studio. Their Workforce Readiness and Education program helps individuals prepare for the GED test, obtain basic computer knowledge, work on resume building and access job placement.
