Chrysalis Health Broward in Sunrise, Florida, provides a psychosocial rehabilitation program for adults. Treatment is available for those with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and co-occurring disorders. They’re situated right near the Middle River and several sports parks and golf courses if being outdoors helps you unwind.

Substance Use Intensive Outpatient Programs
The clinic offers an intensive outpatient program. They teach you about your brain chemistry with substance use. You also learn how to take control of urges and cravings.
You’ll be taught relapse prevention skills and will establish a wellness recovery plan. Post acute withdrawal syndrome is a set of symptoms from withdrawing that persist. If you are experiencing this, you would benefit from psychiatric treatment and medication. Psychiatric sessions can be virtual via telehealth.
They believe that the progression of addiction is a disease, and guest speakers who are recovered addicts are often invited to speak about their experiences. You’ll be expected to attend community support groups that emphasize the 12 steps.
Other things you learn about include diet, nutrition, food planning, money management, spirituality and its link to recovery, and stages of change. While attending the group sessions, clients work with your peers gardening, cooking, and learning about computers. Lunch is provided and transportation is available if you need rides to and from your meetings.
Family Involvement During Recovery
As the front line battling substance use, families are offered services through the clinic. Families are taught how to support their loved one during recovery and family dynamics and interactions that may be enabling the addictive behavior.
The facility is open Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Clients may smoke in designated areas.
