About Charleston Recovery Center
The Charleston Recovery Center is a nonprofit drug and alcohol addiction treatment center. They specialize in residential treatment programs ranging from 90-360 days.
The program is oriented toward addiction only and is not a mental health treatment center. The facility is in Charleston, South Carolina, and staffed largely by people who have already gone through the program and want to help others achieve lasting sobriety. Treatment is for adult men and women.
Addiction Treatment Near Downtown Charleston
The treatment facility is about 12 miles from historic downtown Charleston. While you’re in recovery, the team takes residents to gardens, petting zoos, concerts, and Broadway shows nearby. One of the important aspects of the program is teaching clients that they don’t need to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol to have a fun time.
Families can visit you while you’re in the program. This encourages your personal recovery as well as encouraging recovery of the family unit. Addiction is a disease that affects everyone, not only the person with the addiction, so everyone benefits when the person with the addiction gets treatment.
Successful 90-Day Addiction Treatment Plan
The programs at this facility are long term from 90-360 days. The 90 day program is their most successful treatment plan. The program begins with a one week newcomer period.
The next 11 weeks focus on the 12 steps of the 12 step model of recovery. Everyone’s case is unique and everyone recovers on their own timeline, which is why clients can spend additional time in inpatient recovery if they need to.
Reintegration Through Sober Living Communities
For clients who complete a minimum of 120 days inpatient, there’s a sober living program. The program helps reintroduce clients back to the outside community while living in a thriving and supportive community.
Sober living clients find employment and attend outside 12 step meetings. They check in with staff, submit work hours, and attend meetings.
