About CareFirst Community Health Services
CareFirst Community Health Services is a non-profit addiction treatment center in Detroit, Michigan offering outpatient and intensive outpatient programs alongside prevention and community support services. They are CARF accredited and committed to accessible and culturally responsive care for diverse clients and families.
What addiction treatment programs are available?
CareFirst offers outpatient treatment with five hours per week of group, client, and educational sessions. Intensive outpatient programming meets three days a week for four hours per day with flexible scheduling for working clients. Aftercare and continuing care support help clients maintain progress after completing structured treatment.
Who can get help at CareFirst?
The center serves adult men and women including pregnant and postpartum women. They also treat justice involved clients coordinating with probation or parole as well as veterans and LGBTQ clients and those with co-occurring mental health or trauma histories.
CareFirst also offers a Women's Specialty Program addressing relationships and parenting as well as abuse and childcare concerns plus prevention services for at risk youth ages 17 and under.
Does CareFirst accept insurance or offer payment help?
CareFirst accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, state-financed health plans, and cash or self-pay. A sliding fee scale based on income and other factors is available, and the center does not refuse services based on inability to pay.
