TenaCity Psychological Services – Closed

Now closed, TenaCity Psychological Services once offered a warm and welcoming space in downtown Chicago for people seeking real and personalized support. They specialized in outpatient mental health care but have a long list of people they provided support for. From individual therapy sessions to family and couple sessions TenaCity also offered psychological testing for their established patients.

But what really made this place stand out is how focused they were on serving marginalized communities. To serve these people they only worked with therapists who understood the unique challenges that come with trauma and identity.

Therapy That Centered You

TenaCity brought a trauma informed system based lens to every single therapy session. This helped their clients to navigate their own personal struggles. Better yet they even offered specialized groups like Women of Color Healing from Trauma Together and similar groups to support trauma for those in the LGBTQ+ community.

TenaCity accepted a wide range of insurance options too. Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Cigna and Humana were among them as well as Medicaid. But they also offered sliding scale options too for people who were uninsured.

Both in person and virtual therapy sessions were offered so you could choose what made you feel the safest and most confident. The location was easy to get to mainly because it was right near public transit and close to big landmarks like the Magnificent Mile.

Clients here worked collaboratively with their therapists to set goals and build treatment plans that genuinely fit their lives. The staff was experienced and deeply committed to help you navigate whatever you’re carrying.
