Addiction Recovery in Rural Alaska
Wasilla is located in southern Alaska, just an hour outside of downtown Anchorage. This recovery center sits on 116 acres of farmland and offers a tranquil, safe, and peaceful environment for you to work through your addiction.
The facility is set up like a dormitory, and you’ll typically share a room with another individual. Though this is a mixed gender facility, men and women sleep in separate quarters of the building.
Nutritional health and wellness are a big part of the recovery process here, and you'll find a fully equipped indoor gym as well as outdoor volleyball, basketball, and pickleball courts. There's cafeteria style dining, and your nutritional and dietary needs will be respected.
Work Therapy Program
A big part of the recovery program here is their work therapy approach. You'll play a critical role in helping maintain and work on the farmland. Through this, you'll learn a variety of life skills, including building your work ethic, being punctual, and working collaboratively as a team.
Through work therapy, counseling, and during your leisure time, you'll be encouraged to build meaningful relationships with others in the recovery program. You’ll find that having a sense of community that you can rely on is a big part of their treatment approach here.
