About Sheepgate
If you or someone you love is stuck in addiction and just can’t seem to find a way out, Sheepgate in Colfax, Iowa might be the answer you’ve been praying for. Sheepgate is the new name for Adult and Teen Challenge of the Midlands, but don’t worry. The heart of the program hasn’t changed one bit.
They’re still offering the same Christ-centered life-transforming help they’ve been known for over the last 40 years. The rebrand just ties them even closer to their Biblical roots, pulling inspiration from the Sheep Gate in John 5, where Jesus healed a man who thought he’d never walk again.
A Fresh Start
At Sheepgate’s men's program, men spend the first seven months at their Colfax campus, which is seriously beautiful. It’s set on 80 acres of peaceful land that used to be a mineral springs resort.
The age limit for anyone attending their program is at least 18 years old. During this time, guys live in dorm-style housing, get regular meals and dig deep into daily discipleship. They also get one-on-one monitoring and work on hands-on projects like lawn care and maintenance. The goal here is a real heart change, building Godly character, self-discipline and a great relationship with Christ.
Healing the Heart First
After the first phase, men move to Maha, Nebraska for the last five months. This stage is all about easing back into everyday life, finding a full-time job, getting involved in a local church and growing into the man God has called you to be.
Sheegate isn’t just focused on helping you stay sober. They’re focused on helping you walk into a completely new life with tools, friendships and faith to help your sobriety last.
