About Acadiana Treatment Center
Acadiana Treatment Center in Sunset, Louisiana, provides long term residential mental and behavioral health treatment to adolescent young women between the ages of 12 and 17. This is a psychiatric residential treatment program that attempts to care for all needs of girls who have had severe issues with emotional, cognitive or behavioral health or are at significant risk while living at home.
Treatment is covered by most insurance plans, including State and Federal health insurance plans. Financial assistance is available if there are extra costs that are not covered by insurance.
Peace and Tranquility
The healing environment here can be the perfect place to restore your soul and receive the treatment needed. The grounds promote inner peace with a pond, nature and beauty surrounding the recreational, educational and residential facilities.
Great Recreational Facilities
There are basketball and volleyball courts, a game room and gym. There are art and music programs and other activities to help each girl realize her potential, find her talents and build her sense of self.
Therapy and treatment programs are intermingled with social and recreational activities. Education is a priority, and each child will have an educational program that meets their learning and developmental needs.
Personal Growth and Education
The primary focus of treatment at Acadiana is to help individuals who are struggling with conduct or behavioral disorders, including substance abuse or addiction. The young women can earn privileges through good behavior and academic achievements to help motivate them to succeed.
Each young woman has a care team that includes mental health and medical professionals who will help them create a treatment plan and life goals to learn how to identify what they want in life, what they deserve in life and how to set the goals that will get them both.
