About AcadianaCares
AcadianaCares is a nonprofit residential and outpatient addiction treatment program in Lafayette, Louisiana that operates its substance use recovery services under the name Seasons of Serenity. The program operates in a 36 bed residential campus.
The program offers a phased 21 to 45 day residential track and an intensive outpatient program with MAT that includes oral and injectable naltrexone. Counseling is available for dual mental health conditions.
The rehab sits inside a 40 year old community health organization that was built to treat HIV/AIDS and assist with housing instability and provides primary care alongside addiction under one roof.
Addiction and Medical Care
AcadianaCares began in 1985 as Lafayette C.A.R.E.S.
This was led by volunteers in response to the AIDS epidemic and that origin still shapes how treatment works in Lafayette today with an onsite pharmacy and primary and preventive care as well as HIV and hepatitis treatment and housing assistance.
Case management is located next to the Seasons of Serenity program.
This means a client who has HIV or hepatitis C and those who are homeless do not need care from separate agencies while in early recovery which is a good fit for those whose substance use has dual medical and housing issues.
Others may prefer an amenities focused rehab.
Horticulture Therapy and Payment Assistance
Seasons of Serenity uses horticulture therapy as a therapeutic modality with CBT and 12 step facilitation. The program accepts all five Louisiana Medicaid plans.
They use a sliding scale fee schedule and state that services are available regardless of a client's ability to pay if clients meet eligibility requirements from the source of the funds.
AcadianaCares serves Lafayette Parish as well as other parishes across south central Louisiana.
