About Washburn House Extended Care
Promises Washburn House is the sober living program in the Washburn House continuum of addiction and mental health treatment programs. It’s located by the Apricot Street Playground in Worcester, Massachusetts, and is part of their inpatient treatment center. However, this isn’t a substance abuse treatment program but rather a residential program offering transitional support for those in or leaving a higher level of care.
Unlike some sober living environments, this one has a structure to it that keeps residents engaged with their recovery and what they learned in treatment. The goal is to ensure you’re ready and confident when you return to independent living.
Move at Your Own Pace
A standout feature of this program is that clients are allowed and even expected to progress at their own pace. There’s no pressure to meet set deadlines and demonstrate skills and knowledge. There’s a lot to balance in sobriety, so taking your time is important to success.
Help Putting Pieces in Place
While this isn’t a treatment program, staff do help establish your foundation before you exit. If you need to find employment, for example, they’ll help you make those connections. Ultimately, they want to set you up for success by helping you connect with what you will need during your stay.
