Vista Taos Renewal Center is a family-owned addiction treatment center that helps patients living in the artistic community of El Prado, New Mexico. They've been around since 1994, and are not only accredited nationally but are known for their intimate and deeply healing methods. They are located in a high desert setting at the foot of Taos Mountain. It's not a huge facility that can treat everyone the same; it's more of a boutique personal experience. They treat adults who are struggling with either drug or alcohol addictions as well as co-occurring mental health conditions.

Detox and Inpatient Care
If needed, you would begin things with their medical detox, which is supervised 24/7 to make sure that you withdraw safely and comfortably. From there, you can try out their Primary Residential Program, which is live-in treatment that involves clinical therapies like group therapy, individual counseling and family support. They also offer extended care as part of their program in case you need it, and this can help with relapse prevention and accountability.
Holistic Treatment with a Cultured Approach
I like that they mix clinical and holistic therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and motivational interviewing. This all gets integrated with experiential and spiritual practices like art therapy, mindfulness training, guided meditation, yoga and movement therapy. There’s a large Native American population in New Mexico, so they integrate respect for those traditions as well.
