About The Thirteen Step House
The Thirteen Step House is a sober living home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It takes men only.
You live at the house while you recover from alcohol or another addiction, and every day includes AA step work, a mutual-help practice built on the 12 steps. The house teaches cooking, money management and job skills, and it also covers study skills and how to live on your own.
Court Programs in Fort Wayne
Staff at the house work with Drug Court, Community Corrections and Recovery Works. Drug Court and Community Corrections aren’t offered inside the house.
If you’re in Drug Court or Community Corrections, the staff in Fort Wayne already have a working contact with that office. The house works with Recovery Works as a recovery residence in Indiana.
Four men from the Fort Wayne AA community started the house in 1968, and it began in a one-bedroom apartment. It’s four buildings now, with room for up to 50 men.

- Detox treatment keeps watch over withdrawal symptoms from start to finish. Changes in how a person feels are noticed early and met with the right kind of support.

- The day runs on a set schedule while a person lives on site, with planned times for groups, therapy and rest.

- Between sessions, people try out new coping skills in real settings like home, work, and social plans. That practice turns ideas from counseling into habits.
