About The Baltimore Station
The Baltimore Station is a CARF accredited, Maryland state licensed residential treatment program in South Baltimore dedicated to helping homeless male veterans overcome addiction and rebuild their lives. The program combines evidence based addiction treatment with transitional housing and workforce development to support recovery and self sufficiency. As the largest VA funded Grant and Per Diem program in the region, The Baltimore Station offers barrier-free care designed to meet veterans where they are and restore hope, health and independence.
Residential Addiction Treatment for Veterans
The Baltimore Station provides clinically managed medium intensity residential treatment (ASAM level III.3) for substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions. Programs includes individual counseling, cognitive behavioral groups, relapse prevention and grief and loss support, all delivered in a client-centered, evidence based framework.
Treatment goes beyond traditional talk therapy to include certified music therapy, art therapy, mindfulness and meditation, equine and K9 therapy, drama and improv, journaling, acupuncture and physical fitness. These creative modalities help residents build coping skills, process trauma and engage meaningfully in recovery while addressing the root causes of addiction.
Transitional Housing and Workforce Development
The program pairs clinical treatment with a Service Intensive Transitional Housing track focused on employment readiness and housing stability. Residents work on individualized service plans that include resume writing, interview skills, financial literacy and job training and placement to support successful community reintegration.
Getting Started at The Baltimore Station
The program operates in person at its West Street location in South Baltimore and accepts veterans from anywhere in the United States.
There are no program fees for participants, and residents keep their SNAP benefits during treatment.
