About Pacific Northwest Adult and Teen Challenge Missoula Womens Campus
The Missoula Women’s Campus offers women struggling with drug and alcohol addictions a residential treatment and discipleship program. Located in western Missoula, Montana, near the Clark Fork River, this residential facility has space for up to 20 residents at a time and forms part of a vast network of similar residential locations operated under the Adult & Teen Challenge banner.
As a part of this network, the Missoula Campus emulates Adult & Teen Challenge’s signature approach to healing addictions and building their residents’ strength and resilience. Within their faith based network, they also receive donations and can secure sponsorships to provide financial assistance to women entering the program.
A Holistic Approach to Addiction Treatment
At the Missoula Campus, they employ evidence based treatment modalities to treat the behavior patterns incidental to addiction. In individual therapy and counselling, residents receive cognitive behavioral therapy aimed at addressing the addiction as well as triggers and other underlying motivations. Counsellors work to provide a safe place to deal with past traumas and to set goals for a healthy and stable future. The staff are also equipped to help with co-occurring mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.
Apart from addressing addiction and other behavioral health concerns, the long term residential program includes elements that help equip women with practical life skills as well. There are many opportunities to get vocational training, education on budgeting and stewardship, and chances for teamwork and bonding within the community.
A Beautiful Environment for Healing
The Missoula Campus provides an excellent location for long term recovery, as it’s situated near Big Sky Park and numerous other great walking and hiking spots. The community surrounding the campus also provides many opportunities for residents to participate in outreach programs, work (as part of the vocational training offered), church events, and recreational activities.
