Southeastern Behavioral Healthcare Community Support Services

Adult outpatient services cover mild to moderate emotional disorders and more complex mental health needs. Trained staff also treat drug or alcohol addiction alongside common emotional disorders, phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Community Support Services offers therapeutic groups such as dialectical behavioral therapy, moral reconation therapy and a wellness recovery action plan. Other educational and support groups are offered too. See the addiction therapy options page for more.

Adults ages eighteen and up who live with mental illness can use the 5th Street Clubhouse, which is a supportive community for that group. The clubhouse sets the age at eighteen and up and keeps the focus on mental illness.

Accepted plans include Avera Health Plan and Sanford Health. SD Medicaid is accepted, and so is Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. That is the insurance coverage for rehab on the list. Medicare Part B is accepted, and self pay is accepted too. A sliding fee scale is based on family size and income, and services don’t depend on ability to pay.

Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha and Turner counties have been served since 1952. The CARE program offers case management and a personalized treatment plan for adults with severe mental illness. IMPACT supports adults with severe mental illness who face challenges living independently. The transitional housing program offers a stable home with services for adults with mental illness and substance abuse.
