About Sanford Behavioral Health at John Street
Sanford Behavioral Health at John Street in Grand Rapids, Michigan, offered residential and non residential services for men who need addiction treatment. The center provided detoxification treatment if you needed help with withdrawals. Medical detox was offered with 24 hour care and management of post acute withdrawal symptoms. While the John Street location has closed, Sanford Behavioral Health continues to offer treatment programs at other facilities.
Residential and Outpatient Treatment Options
Residential treatment would be best for you if you need intensive treatment or to be removed from a triggering environment. Addiction co-occurring with mental health disorders is treated concurrently, as the two normally affect each other.
Extended residential is best for you if you are battling addictions to more than one substance. Partial hospitalization is available as an alternative to residential or as a step down for those who have completed residential treatment. The program is structured full-day therapies with clients returning home for the night.
Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) are less structured but offer 10 hours of treatment per week. Morning and evening sessions are available for client convenience. Medication assisted treatment reduces the discomfort of withdrawals and cravings, and helps individuals gain control of co-occurring disorders.
The aftercare program provides services after treatment completion. Support is provided by counselors, recovery peers and community volunteers. Sober housing is an option for clients who cannot return home to a sober environment.
Children and Family Support
An extensive family program is offered by Sanford. By working with your family, sobriety is more likely to be achieved. Your loved ones will learn about addiction while you work together to build back family trust.
Children are integrated into the treatment as well because many of them tend to use substances after witnessing use during childhood. Families are also a welcome part of the alumni program.
Open Facilities Treating Addiction and Co-occurring Disorders
These programs are now offered at Sanford West Behavior Health Campus and Sanford Outpatient Center. Eating disorders are addressed through the Sanford Comprehensive Treatment for Eating Disorders program. These are all located in Marne, Michigan.
