About Richmond Behavioral Health Authority
Richmond Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) is the public behavioral health entity serving the City of Richmond providing substance use and mental health as well as intellectual disability and prevention services.
They are committed to accessible community centered care that meets Richmond residents where they are regardless of insurance status or financial means.
The organization supports adults and adolescents including families through a full continuum that includes general and intensive outpatient, residential treatment and withdrawal management, and office based opioid treatment.
Opioid Treatment Programs and Residential Treatment
RBHA's core specialty is delivering a full continuum of substance use care guided by ASAM criteria for appropriate placement. Adult services include case management, intensive outpatient and residential treatment, and medically monitored withdrawal management at North Campus.
The Office Based Opioid Treatment program pairs buprenorphine based medication assisted treatment with counseling and peer specialist support, solution focused interventions and care coordination with an in-house contracted pharmacy.
Pregnant women receive priority access and same day Rapid Access admissions rapidly transition entry into care weekdays from 8 am to 2 pm.
Adolescent Substance Use Services
RBHA offers dedicated outpatient and intensive outpatient programs for adolescents ages 13 to 17 at the Chelsea Hill Outpatient Treatment Center.
Treatment draws on evidence based models like Cannabis Youth Treatment, the Community Reinforcement Approach, and skills based work to help teens build healthier coping tools and sustain recovery.
