About Recovery is Happening
Recovery is Happening is a nonprofit, peer led recovery community organization and licensed non residential substance use disorder treatment provider serving adults across southeastern Minnesota.
Founded in 2011, the Rochester based organization combines intensive outpatient treatment with peer recovery support, recovery housing and evidence based practices to treat substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Rooted in lived experience, their mission is to connect people with individualized recovery pathways that meet them wherever they are on their journey.
Peer Led Intensive Outpatient Care
Recovery is Happening offers an intensive outpatient program providing nine hours of treatment per week, with length individualized to each participant's needs.
Care begins with a comprehensive, person centered assessment and is delivered by qualified treatment staff who collaborate with community resources.
Treatment draws on evidence based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, contingency management and relapse prevention, trauma related counseling and 12 step facilitation, offered through counseling.
Medication assisted treatment and recovery coaching further support each participant's path to lasting change.
Community Reintegration
A signature offering is Telephone Recovery Support, a compassionate, low barrier program providing weekly peer to peer calls from trained staff and volunteers.
Outreach continues after setbacks or renewed substance use rather than requiring abstinence, keeping people connected through every stage of recovery.
Additional support includes recovery housing, a re-entry program for justice involved individuals, life skills and workforce development, and a Mayo Clinic emergency department partnership.
Insurance and Next Steps
Recovery is Happening serves an 11 county region of southeastern Minnesota from its Rochester office, offering in person treatment and community based recovery programming.
Payment options include Medicaid/Medical Assistance, private and state financed health insurance, government funding and self payment, with housing assistance available for eligible individuals.
