POWER Halfway House

In Swissvale, POWER House is a women’s rehab center in Pennsylvania. It’s a residential halfway house program for women beginning recovery or changing it, with individual and group therapy, and it accepts pregnant women.

You live at POWER House in Swissvale while you’re in treatment, so your nights are at the house rather than at home. The stay includes one of 26 private bedrooms and can run as long as six months, based on what you need. Staff are on site around the clock, and days include life skills classes, expressive arts therapy and yoga.

Sober living isn’t offered here. If medication is the worry, a psychiatrist is the medical director and can consult on medication management. Squirrel Hill Health Center works with the house on primary care and on medications used to treat a substance use disorder.

There’s a playroom for visiting children, and family education and counseling are part of the program. Aftercare and discharge planning are offered as well.
