Intensive Outpatient Treatment in Pittsburgh

The IOP involves three hours of treatment per day for three days per week. Treatment includes group therapy, individual therapy and psychiatric services.
Outpatient Groups for Specific Needs
There are three outpatient group types based on your needs. Keeping Recovery Groups meet once or twice per week. These offer general support for those who are in recovery. Motivation in Recovery and Harm Reduction groups are appropriate for you if you are considering treatment to reduce physical harm from substance use.
Medication for Opioid Use Disorder groups offer support for the medication you have been prescribed: buprenorphine, naltrexone or long acting injectables. The group fulfills the requirement that you must receive counseling during the medication period. If you require additional counseling, you can receive individual counseling in addition to the group meetings.
If you are not receiving these medications but feel you need to, you can join the MOUD Clinic by coming during walk-in hours at the Sister Veronica McDarby Admissions Center. Walk-in hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from noon to 2:00 pm.
