Levels of care#

Detox

After withdrawal ends, the next step in Maine is ongoing treatment, since detox alone does not treat a substance use disorder. Moving into that care keeps recovery going once this stage is done.

Inpatient / residential

Outpatient

Once a person in Maine leaves residential care, outpatient sessions keep the work going at a gentler pace. Sleep happens at home, and daily routines continue.

Aftercare support

Aftercare planning usually begins before discharge, while the treatment experience is still fresh and goals are easy to discuss.

Intervention services
