Journey Counseling Center Longmont

Journey Counseling Center is a private outpatient counseling center in Longmont, Colorado. Therapists provide a variety of addiction and mental health assessment and treatment services, including treatment for those with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.

The therapists treat children, adolescents, and adults, and they offer DUI services in English and Spanish. I think it’s great that they also make accommodations for clients who are hard of hearing or deaf. You can pay for treatment using private health insurance, including Medicare. The facility is about two miles from downtown Longmont.

Strong Focus on Dual Diagnosis

The team’s treatment approach emphasizes the overlap of substance misuse and mental health. They work with clients already on medication assisted treatment (MAT), but they do not prescribe MAT. Journey clinicians educate and assist clients in achieving personal goals through a clearer sense of self and improved coping skills so they don’t resort to domestic violence or anger.

Providing Help for Process Addictions

Not all addictions are substance based. Many clients deal with process addictions, such as gambling, porn, or food misuse or addiction, so I think it’s great that they offer assistance to these clients as well.
