About Jasons Retreat Mens Recovery Services
Jason's Retreat is located in the Old Kern district of Bakersfield in California. It's a branch of the Bakersfield Recovery Services. For over 40 years, this facility has dedicated itself to assisting men not only in attaining sobriety, but also in nurturing a deeply respectful and responsible life centered on self-worth and family.
Programs with Specialized Features
Jason's Retreat has a specifically crafted program to aid in recovery that accommodates 30 men in what is referred to as the Big House. Their primary strategy includes thorough strategies to reduce domestic violence, healthy relationship and parenting skills and advanced relapse prevention work.
One distinguishing feature is the commitment to classes and groups, which are attended daily, four times a week for over eight hours each. Participants are taught to master the first four basic steps of the 12 Steps of recovery along with mandatory daily attendance at program meetings, active sponsoring and working with a sponsor, which are all constructive steps.
Other provided onsite amenities include a recreation room, a large dining area, and a communal kitchen with clients prepared to assist in the cooking and cleaning which promotes shared responsibility and community.
Aftercare and Community Integration
What makes Jason’s Retreat distinctive are their programs targeting long-term recovery and community integration. Family members are actively involved in the entire healing process by receiving guided family visits twice a week along with weekly family nights after the first 10 days of treatment.
Treatment is also designed along the lines of a gradual return to independence. Patients who stay over 45 days are entitled to escorted outings and eventually unsupervised weekend passes, promoting self-sufficiency.
Bakersfield is ideal for active recreational and leisure activities such as visiting amusement parks and sporting events as well as attending local festivals and community celebrations. The presence of sober living homes in close proximity and the administrative building are easily accessible and staffed with counselors for ongoing support at the very community where men are rebuilding their lives.
