About Home With a Heart
Home With a Heart in Liberty, South Carolina, is a free residential facility for men. The program is open to men who are seeking freedom from the bondage of alcohol and drugs through Jesus Christ. Thousands of men have entered this program since 1993, with many making decisions to follow Jesus Christ.
The program lasts eight weeks. Substance use treatment includes teachings of the Bible and the 12 Step principles of Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Celebrate Recovery.
Program Admission
Clients are accepted regardless of age, race or creed. A potential client must be sober for at least 72 hours before entering the program. The client will be drug and alcohol tested. You must be able to do light tasks such as cooking, cleaning and yard work. The campus is tobacco free.
Faith-Based Recovery Program
The campus features 29 acres of land with the director’s home and two 3,700 square foot dormitories that can house 20 men. Also on campus is a 2,800 square foot chapel that includes a sanctuary for services and classes and a commercial kitchen.
Several activities per week make up group and work therapy. Daily devotions are led by more than 50 volunteer preachers from the area. The director and staff hold a daily gold nugget class that teaches the Biblical 12 steps.
Reading through the Bible in groups occurs weekly. Parishioners from the Covenant Baptist Church in Anderson hold a Bible study once per week.
Program and teaching concepts include God is Love, God’s Creation, The 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, Standing on God’s Promises through Jesus Christ, Drug Addicts and Alcoholics are Being Delivered, and One Day at a Time.
