About Higher Ground
Established in 1995, Higher Ground is a rehabilitation center located in Wichita, Kansas, that focuses on treating addiction in both adults and children. Along with managing substance use disorders (SUDs), Higher Ground also prioritizes counseling that helps families overcome addiction together and support reunification whenever possible. They also offer multilingual services.
Youth Treatment Solutions
For children between the ages of 12 and 17, Higher Ground provides outpatient services to help youth overcome addiction. This not only includes an assessment administered by a licensed counselor, but also a customized plan to reach sobriety. The outpatient program can include art therapy, counseling, and building problem solving skills and life skills.
There are also family programs that work under the understanding that it takes a village to help anyone overcome SUDs, including children. Continuing care is also provided to help young people maintain sobriety even after completing the outpatient program.
Outpatient Adult Care
Similar to Higher Ground’s youth services, the adult outpatient program is designed for people who have already achieved sobriety and are now ready to focus on building the skill sets necessary to maintain it. This means if you’re actively struggling with addiction, you’ll need to have already detoxed and become sober before starting at Higher Ground.
The outpatient program focuses on preventing relapse and offers family services to help your family build understanding and help you maintain your sobriety. Support can include counseling services and access to groups like the 12 Step program. Services are also offered in Spanish to provide comprehensive access for all members of the community.
Paying for Treatment
Higher Ground works with most insurance providers in Kansas and is a certified Medicaid provider. However, a patient care advocate can provide more detailed information on the specific insurance plans that are accepted.
