About Heartview Foundation Cando
Heartview Foundation was created in 1964 and has served thousands of clients who want to recover from substance use disorders. At their Cando location in North Dakota, they offer a residential addiction treatment program in a rural and serene environment. This facility has the capacity to accommodate 16 individuals at a time. Special therapy approaches used at Heartview include equine therapy and dog therapy.
Nonjudgmental and Thorough Treatment Process
Treatment begins with an initial interview and comprehensive evaluation. Enrollment into this residential program will depend on bed availability. There are some wait times for treatment; however, it depends on location and if you’re able to respond with little notice.
When enrolled in the program you’ll receive an individualized treatment plan with AA and NA meetings and spirituality discussions. A chaplain is onsite to help you navigate how spirituality plays into your recovery. While immersed in treatment you’ll create support systems and learn healthy coping skills.
Healthy Holistic Therapy and Activities
It’s important to note that Heartview doesn’t provide medical detox services. It provides social detox. This includes support and monitoring but no medical services.
Their residential treatment can last between three and six weeks. In addition to therapy, you’ll engage in creative art sessions, yoga, anger management and parenting classes.
Supervised activities away from campus are also a part of healing. You’ll have the opportunity to attend the movies, go to a gym, attend church, or go to NA and AA meetings.
Note that equine therapy is only available at the Heartview Cando location. Medication assisted treatment is only available at the Heartview Bismarck location.
