About Gaudenzia Erie
Gaudenzia Erie is part of Gaudenzia Addiction Treatment & Recovery Services, a nonprofit substance use disorder (SUD) treatment center with multiple locations throughout several states. This outpatient center in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, treats adolescents and adults. The treatment center is conveniently located near the convergence of Route 99 (Edinboro Road) and US Route 6N and only three miles from I-79. Their addiction treatment is comprehensive, with therapy to treat co-occurring mental health disorders.
The center was established in 1968, and the team’s core principles remain the same, putting client care as their top priority. For payment, they accept some commercial insurance and Medicaid plans.
Age-Specific Treatment for Teens and Adults
The outpatient programs here are best for clients stepping down from a residential program, are in treatment for the first time, or those who need to continue with school or work while in treatment. They offer targeted programs for teens and adults, so clients feel comfortable attending treatments with their peer group.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Options
Their MAT options are tailored to each client’s needs and include FDA approved medications. The treatment team here offers MAT induction and maintenance. They use several forms of buprenorphine, naloxone and Vivitrol. They also support clients already on methadone maintenance.
In addition to MAT, clients receive therapy for co-occurring mental health disorders. Therapies used include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). Clients also have group and individual counseling.
Gender and Culturally Responsive Care
One of the nice features of this organization’s programs is their gender and culturally responsive care. Clients can rest assured that treatment is individualized and sensitive to the unique issues and obstacles that each person faces, including people affected by HIV/AIDS, pregnant women, and people of different ethnicities. Programs are trauma informed and strengths focused.
