First Step Community Counseling Services is an outpatient chemical dependency treatment center in Kennewick, Washington.

Court and Prosecution Services
First Step combines flexible addiction treatment with a full continuum of criminal justice and DUI services that many counseling centers do not house under one roof.
This program includes DUI evaluations, deferred prosecution programming, court approved parenting seminars, anger management classes and Alcohol and Other Drug Information School (ADIS).
This means that clinical treatment and the mandated requirements are coordinated in the same place with the office maintaining direct working relationships with drug courts, attorneys and detox resources.
The program helps clients navigate court orders and treatment at the same time.
First Step also offers payment plans for clients in the two-year deferred prosecution program, which is uncommon for court cases.
Matrix Model and MRT-Certified Counseling
First Step uses the Matrix Model curriculum across all of its intensive outpatient programs and its clinicians are certified in Moral Reconation Therapy.
Rather than a single general outpatient track the program runs dedicated adult, youth, gender-specific, relapse prevention and aftercare groups including youth aftercare.
First Step works with and accepts plans that include Washington Apple Health, private insurance, private pay and sliding-scale fees that may be based on income and family size.
They also include telemedicine visits after an initial assessment.
