About Fayetteville VA Medical Center
Fayetteville VA Medical Center is a substance abuse treatment program serving Veterans in Fayetteville, North Carolina. As part of the VA Fayetteville Coastal Health Care system the program offers a full continuum of care and aftercare for Veterans struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. With specialized supports for homeless Veterans and LGBTQ+ Veterans, the center combines therapies with medical services on one integrated campus.
Medically Supervised Detox
Veterans can begin treatment with medically supervised detox (available in both inpatient and outpatient settings) before transitioning into residential inpatient care or structured outpatient programming based on clinical need. Medication-assisted treatment with buprenorphine, naltrexone, or methadone is available for opioid and alcohol use disorders.
These medications help reduce drug cravings and lessen withdrawal symptoms so guests can relax and focus on recovery without distractions.
Addressing Root Causes
The center provides outpatient options to support Veterans stepping down from higher levels of care or entering treatment for the first time. Throughout all programs, clients receive therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, 12-step facilitation and trauma-related counseling.
The team addresses co-occurring serious mental health conditions through integrated dual diagnosis care.
