About ECMC Hospital
The ECMC Health Campus in Buffalo, New York is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive medical care including treatment for addiction and mental health conditions. The campus building offers a Tim Hortons, Subway, Zak’s Snacks, cafeteria with healthy options, gift shop, and an ATM.
The campus is accredited by The Joint Commission and has received an AACN Beacon Award for Excellence in trauma care. They are an affiliate of the University at Buffalo. They accept Medicare, Medicaid, and many other major insurance coverages. They have financial assistance programs for those with limited incomes, who are uninsured, or are underinsured.
Inpatient Detox and Stabilization
Inpatient treatment begins with a substance use disorder assessment in the emergency room by a substance use counselor. This service is available 24 hours per day. You will receive medical detoxification and stabilization for withdrawals from substance use. The counselor will then determine the substance use treatment that is best for you and make a referral.
Outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment for Substance Use
Outpatient programs here offer medication assisted treatment or MAT. Medications prescribed include Suboxone, naltrexone and Vivitrol. Services include family and group counseling alongside your medications.
Adolescents can be treated for substance use at ECMC. Specialized treatments are offered for clients with a dual diagnosis or a PTSD diagnosis.
Walk In Emergency Services
Walk in hours are from 8:00 am to 12:00 am. This provides urgent care services for adults who are having a mental health crisis. The team here will develop an understand of what you need and can coordinate your care to see you through your crisis.
