About Emory University Hospital at Wesley Woods
Emory Addiction Center at Wesley Woods Hospital is an outpatient addiction treatment program serving adolescents and adults ages 14 and older in Atlanta, Georgia. The multidisciplinary center offers evidence based care for substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions through individual therapy, group skill building and medication management including buprenorphine and injectable naltrexone.
As an academic medical center program, Emory Addiction Center integrates clinical care, education and research to deliver comprehensive, team based treatment that addresses both addiction and mental health.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Emory Addiction Center specializes in integrated treatment for individuals managing substance use alongside co-occurring psychiatric disorders. The team includes board certified addiction psychiatrists, child and adolescent psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers and psychologists who collaborate to address the full picture of recovery.
Treatment combines cognitive behavioral therapy, medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorder and skill building group therapy to target both immediate symptoms and underlying issues. Services are available across multiple levels of care, including standard outpatient, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization allowing for step down support as clients progress.
Young Adult Addiction Services
The Emory Adolescent Substance Use Treatment Services program is designed specifically for young people ages 14 to 26. EAST offers developmentally tailored outpatient care that includes family support groups and parent guidance alongside individual and group therapy, recognizing the unique challenges adolescents and young adults face in early recovery.
Getting Started
Emory Addiction Center is located on the Wesley Woods Hospital campus in Atlanta, with in person services available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The center is a training site for addiction and child psychiatry fellows and postdoctoral psychology students, reflecting its commitment to advancing the field.
The program accepts Medicaid, Medicare and Medicare Advantage, major private and employer based insurance and federal marketplace plans with self pay and financial assistance options available.
