About Dakotah Pride Center
Located in Agency Village, South Dakota, is The Dakotah Pride Center. It’s managed by the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate. Since 1970, this facility has been helping residents of this Native American tribe fight mental health and substance abuse disorders. For patients who want to join treatment, they accept Indian Health Service, self pay options and some private insurance plans.
Programs Rooted in Culture
The Dakotah Pride Center provides different programs for every stage of recovery, including adult inpatient and outpatient as well as adolescent outpatient programs.
The inpatient program has a facility with 12 bds and 24/7 medical care, which is usually the first step into recovery. During the treatment, patients will attend assessments, counseling, and life skills classes to focus on their physical, mental and spiritual disease.
Healing with Tradition & Care
The facility has some very unique programs and offerings, the Prenatal Empowerment Program focuses on pregnant women who are struggling with addictions by using their matrix model.
A few blocks away at 420 Dakotah Avenue is their center for outpatient services for both adults and adolescents. This includes addiction counseling and ongoing care for long term-recovery.
