About Covenant Community
Covenant Community is a CARF accredited nonprofit residential treatment program in Atlanta, Georgia serving adult men recovering from substance use disorder while experiencing homelessness.
The program integrates therapeutic community principles, individual and group counseling, 12 step programming and evidence based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy to support long term recovery. Covenant Community emphasizes healing and hope through community based treatment, life stabilization supports and a continuum of care designed to help residents achieve sobriety, secure employment and transition into stable housing.
Substance Use Disorder Treatment
Covenant Community specializes in addressing the intersection of addiction and homelessness through intensive residential care at its 14 bed Atlanta facility. Licensed by the Georgia Department of Community Health and certified by the Georgia Association of Recovery Residences, the program provides at least five hours of structured services per week including individual counseling, group process sessions and psycho education on topics like financial management and employment readiness.
Treatment follows a therapeutic community model that fosters accountability, peer support and skill building in a structured residential environment. Sessions incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy and rational behavior therapy to address thought patterns and behaviors underlying substance use, while 12 step programming and group work help residents build a foundation for sustained recovery and successful community reintegration.
Family Support
Covenant Community offers Families of Hope, a dedicated support program for the families of residents navigating recovery.
The organization also operates Recovery Resources of Atlanta: Midtown, a peer led community support center offering free peer check ins and recovery meetings, job readiness assistance and housing support to sustain long term recovery beyond residential treatment.
