Child and Family Charities

Child and Family Charities is a Lansing-based nonprofit human-services organization licensed by the Michigan Department of Public Health to provide substance use screening, assessment, treatment, referral and prevention.

The agency offers outpatient addiction care, co-occurring disorder treatment and aftercare support for adolescents, transitional-age young adults and adults, including LGBTQ clients and trauma survivors.

With roots in the Lansing community since 1911, the organization brings a holistic, family-centered approach that blends behavioral health with broader youth and family services.

Outpatient Psychiatric Medication Management

Child and Family Charities provides outpatient addiction treatment built around individual, group and family counseling. The program is designed for clients across the lifespan, with particular experience supporting youth, families involved with foster care or adoption and individuals managing co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns.

Through the Brighter Futures Wellness Clinic, clients can also access psychiatric medication management to support a more complete recovery plan.

Sessions draw on approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and relapse prevention, alongside trauma and anger management counseling.

Trauma-Informed and Youth-Focused Care

The organization specializes in care for people impacted by trauma, interpersonal violence, sexual assault and child welfare involvement.

This trauma-informed lens shapes how clinicians address substance misuse, helping clients connect underlying experiences to current behaviors while building healthier coping skills.

Insurance Accepted In-Person and Telehealth Care

Services are offered both in person in the Lansing area and via telehealth, with care extending to surrounding Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties.

Child and Family Charities accepts Medicaid, private insurance, state-financed coverage, government-funded support and self-pay.
