Center for Psychological and Family Services

Center for Psychological and Family Services was a multicultural, multiracial and multilingual outpatient mental health agency. The agency, in Springfield, Massachusetts, is now closed.

This clinic was located in the third largest city in the state, which is famously known as the City of Firsts. It is the birthplace of basketball, the first American Motorcycle industry and the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture garden.

Mental Health Treatment Services

When they were open, the Center offered mental health services in English, Spanish, Russian, Hebrew and Polish, providing treatment to the community in a way that reflected the patient mix and culture of the clinical and support staff. While staffers didn’t offer substance use disorder treatment, they did provide comprehensive services for mental health conditions that are often associated with substance use disorders.

Care for Children Through Seniors in Recovery

The team worked with children through seniors who were in recovery, addressing mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder and personality disorders. They accepted referrals from a variety of sources and all work was done under the direct supervision of senior staff.

Past patients spoke highly of the therapist and support staff, noting that the location was easy to find and the staff were attentive to their needs. The Center accepted Medicare, Medicaid and other state financed health insurance plans. They also accepted self-payment and worked with some private insurance providers in the state.
