About Capital Area Recovery Program
Capital Area Recovery Program (CARP) provides substance use treatment in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The program serves adults 18 and older with substance use disorders, including those navigating co-occurring mental health conditions.
CARP's mission reflects a community-first approach, linking residential recovery with a wider public behavioral health network to support long-term wellness.
Residential Substance Use Recovery
CARP offers a 28-day residential addiction recovery program for adult men and women with intake by appointment.
The program benefits from system-level clinical resources and established referral pathways for detox and medication-assisted treatment for opioid use.
Treatment follows a structured path including screening, assessment, stabilization, active treatment, rehabilitation and discharge planning.
Clients participate in educational groups, family therapy and aftercare programming designed to address root causes of addiction and build sustainable recovery skills.
Integrated Co-Occurring and Family Support
Beyond substance use care, CARP integrates co-occurring mental health treatment, problem gambling services, parenting classes, tobacco cessation and post-incarceration support.
Priority admission is offered to pregnant injecting drug users, pregnant individuals with substance use concerns, and injecting drug users reflecting a strong public-health commitment.
