About CALM Center
CALM Center is a youth crisis stabilization program in Tulsa, Oklahoma providing immediate support for children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral or substance use crises. The center offers intensive treatment and coordinated aftercare planning to help young people move safely from crisis to recovery. Operated by Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma (CRSOK), CALM Center uses a multidisciplinary, trauma-informed approach that meets families where they are regardless of their ability to pay.
Crisis Stabilization
CALM Center provides a structured, medically supervised stabilization stay that typically lasts about one week and is designed to fill the gap between outpatient counseling and inpatient hospitalization. Youth in crisis receive rapid assessment, medication management when needed and medically supervised detox in a safe, supportive environment staffed by psychiatrists, nurses, therapists and life-skills coaches.
Daily Life
Throughout their stay, clients participate in individual and family therapy, coping-skills groups and expressive therapies including art, pet, and music therapy. The team addresses both substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges, building a personalized aftercare plan to support ongoing recovery and reintegration into school, home and community.
They may address past events that led to substance use while developing skills for life's circumstances that assist with sustained sobriety and emotional regulation.
