Augusta VA Medical Center Uptown is part of the VA Augusta Health Care System providing addiction treatment and integrated medical care for Veterans in Augusta, Georgia.
The Uptown campus offers inpatient and outpatient addiction services, co-occurring disorder treatment and specialty programs for adults, older Veterans, women, men, young adults and LGBTQ Veterans.
The campus pairs recovery care with whole-person support, helping Veterans heal alongside trusted peers and providers who understand military life.
Veteran-Centered Addiction Treatment
The Uptown campus delivers alcohol, opioid and dual-diagnosis treatment through inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, and aftercare levels of care.
Care is tailored for Veterans 18 and older, including those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Sessions may include such proven modalities as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, counseling and recreational therapy.
Creative arts options like art therapy, music therapy, yoga, Tai Chi and therapeutic gardening help address underlying stress, trauma, and co-occurring depression.
Integrated Support for Homeless Veterans
Beyond clinical care, the Uptown campus connects addiction and depression treatment with housing assistance, employment and education support, financial guidance and reentry services.
Walk-in hours and free DAV van transportation across Georgia help reduce common barriers to starting and staying in treatment.
