About Alliance Recovery Center
You might know Athens, Georgia as the home of the University of Georgia Bulldogs, or maybe you’re more into the music scene. Regardless, you can find plenty of fun activities in the city! You’ll also find Alliance Recovery Center (ARC), which provides medication assisted treatment or MAT and therapy for those who have opioid use disorder.
ARC charges a per day rate for treatment. Many insurance plans cover addiction treatment, and they accept Medicaid, Original Medicare and several private insurance plans.
Treatment Through Connection in Athens
What stood out to me about this clinic is that they focus on the therapy and relationships that are built in the program. They see the medication as a tool, but not the focus of the process. They use MAT to keep clients stable while they address the root causes of addiction and help them create new connections and relationships.
New clients attend treatment at the clinic six days a week, and as they progress in the program they are given take home medication and come in less often. They use methadone and buprenorphine as MAT medications.
Individual and Group Therapy Options
ARC provides focused individual and group therapy. The groups cover a wide range of topics that allow participants to address issues that they may face, receive gender specific care, and more.
Not all groups are available all the time, but some examples include veterans, men’s, women’s, addictive behavior and grief in addition to stress management, self esteem and relapse prevention. The goal of these groups is to allow clients to build authentic connections with people who have similar experiences to them. These connections lead to a stronger commitment to recovery long term sobriety.
