About AICDC American Indian Community Development Corporation
American Indian Community Development Corporation (AICDC) is a Native-led organization providing culturally specific addiction and withdrawal management services for American Indian communities across the Twin Cities metro area.
Since 2002, AICDC has offered Hennepin County chemical withdrawal and detox services including medically assisted treatment for opioid addiction.
Grounded in the Medicine Wheel AICDC connects clients to teachings, ceremonies and tribal history as a foundation for healing and recovery.
Culturally Grounded Detox
The center's core focus is medical withdrawal management and detox built specifically for Native clients in the Twin Cities.
Services include opioid withdrawal support with medically assisted treatment using Suboxone, comprehensive assessments and chemical health evaluations.
The program offers chemical, medical and health education groups, plus in-house support and hosted AA/NA recovery meetings.
Treatment also connects clients to mental health, treatment and community-based referrals, with continuing care coordination to support each step of the recovery journey.
Native-Led Community Reconnection
Beyond detox AICDC embeds recovery within a broader continuum that includes permanent supportive housing and homeless services for American Indian people.
Clients can access ceremonial and spiritual supports including a community-based sweat lodge on the organization's Anishinabe campus in south Minneapolis.
This approach centers cultural reconnection alongside clinical care.
