About YWCA North Central Indiana South Bend
YWCA North Central Indiana is a CARF accredited nonprofit in South Bend offering gender specific substance use treatment for women through its Women's Journey program.
The organization provides residential and outpatient care addressing substance use, co-occurring mental health conditions and trauma related to domestic violence or sexual assault.
Built on a 16 step recovery and empowerment model, Women's Journey is designed around the unique barriers women face in early recovery offering confidential, wraparound support that meets women where they are.
Women's Journey
The Women's Journey program is a gender specific substance use treatment track for women age 18 and older including young adults and pregnant or postpartum clients.
Delivered in a secure residential setting at the St. Joseph County Shelter, the program follows a 16 week, 16 step empowerment focused curriculum.
Treatment integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and relapse prevention alongside counseling.
Clients also receive trauma informed counseling and case management, supportive groups and access to naltrexone when clinically appropriate, addressing both addiction and the root issues that often accompany it.
Trauma Informed Care
YWCA pairs addiction treatment with its broader survivor services, making it a strong fit for women with histories of domestic violence, sexual abuse or trauma.
On site shelter, childcare and healthcare access, legal advocacy and self sufficiency programs help reduce common barriers that keep women from completing treatment.
