About Volunteer Behavioral Health Hiwassee Mental Health Center
Volunteer Behavioral Health Hiwassee Mental Health Center provides behavioral health and addiction care for adults, children and adolescents in Cleveland, Tennessee.
The center provides outpatient and intensive outpatient care for substance use disorders, mental health conditions and co-occurring disorders. Its mission centers on integrated, community-based care that treats the whole person and not just a single diagnosis.
Intensive Outpatient Care
The Cleveland campus offers intensive outpatient treatment focused on substance use disorders for adults alongside standard outpatient addiction services and aftercare support.
As part of the larger Volunteer Behavioral Healthcare System the center pairs clinical treatment with added resources like on-site pharmacy access and telehealth availability.
Treatment involves approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand the thoughts and patterns behind substance use.
Sessions focus on building coping skills, addressing root causes and supporting long-term recovery, with qualifying clients also able to access housing-related and financial assistance.
Co-Occurring and Mental Health Support
Alongside addiction care the center provides outpatient mental health services for adults, children and adolescents, plus adult crisis intervention.
Co-occurring disorder treatment is a key focus addressing mental health and substance use together for more complete care.
Programming reflects the needs of diverse populations, including men, women, young adults and military clients.
