About Valley View Youth Recovery Center
Valley View is a healthcare organization by Sayre Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. They offer a wide array of medical services, including behavioral health treatment. The Valley View Youth Recovery Center was part of the main hospital campus and focused on youths aged 15-18 who were experiencing mental health and substance misuse issues.
The Youth Center’s Programs
The 42-day program was housed in its own unit at Valley View Hospital. The unit was divided into houses with each house containing up to six clients at a time. The youngsters received clinical care and also kept up with their schooling.
Clients paid for services using private health insurance or Medicaid. I noticed that due to staffing shortages and reduced Medicaid reimbursement rates, the youth program is now permanently closed.
Continued Behavioral Health Services
The main Valley View hospital remains and continues to offer behavioral health services. It features 78 beds for crisis care.
I believe people will appreciate that behavioral health services are still offered on the hospital campus on an outpatient basis. The services are integrated for a holistic care experience–reinforced by a Tudor facade and natural wooden accents in its exterior–and include solution focused therapy, cognitive therapy, and motivational interviewing. These approaches can get at the root of an addiction and replace it with healthier ways of coping.
