About Valley Health – Upper Kanawha
The Upper Kanawha location of Valley Health provides mental, emotional, and behavioral health care to children, youth and adults in the Charleston, West Virginia area. They have substance abuse and addiction programs that are available for adolescents and adults.
Mental health and behavioral issues in children can be supported on an outpatient basis with programs for autism spectrum disorder for children as young as three. There is support for children aged five to 18 who are struggling with mood and personality disorders, psychiatric conditions, post traumatic stress or anxiety disorders and more. Mental health and neurodevelopmental assessments are available for children from ages three to 18.
Drug and Alcohol Treatment
Addiction treatment is available for adolescents and adults. Programs include cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy, peer support groups and life skills workshops, case management, and individual counseling. The evidence-based therapy curriculum is used in correlation with medication assisted treatment (MAT) options when appropriate.
