Levels of care#

Detox

Detox may happen in an inpatient setting or on an outpatient schedule, depending on what the person needs. Both kinds of care can be found around Georgia.

Inpatient / residential

People who have just finished detox often move into inpatient care next, where recovery keeps moving with support close at hand.

Partial hospitalization (PHP)

When steady clinical contact matters, day treatment offers therapy, groups, and check-ins in one place.

Outpatient

Work shifts, classes, and family routines stay on the calendar around outpatient sessions. People keep sleeping at home and stay present for the rest of daily life.

Aftercare support

For someone who has finished treatment, aftercare is the support that continues afterward, while new habits and routines are still forming.

Co-occurring disorders

Dual diagnosis care keeps both conditions in view throughout the whole course of treatment. Leaving one untreated raises the chance the other pulls recovery back over time.

Intervention services

An intervention asks a loved one to accept help, and everyone waits to hear the answer. The person is asked to consider an assessment or treatment, and the choice stays their own.

Sober living

In Georgia, residents keep ordinary daily routines while outpatient care or meetings happen elsewhere, because this housing is not treatment.
